     Celebrating 64^th Independence day...its relevance to the youth community

15th of Aug 1947 is being marked as a day of historical importance to the people of this nation as on this date India got freedom from the shackles of Imperialism & colonialism of the British rule which exploited Indian soil for almost 200  years. These years of colonialism  deprived the growth of  mental wisdom of the people by inflicting them with a sense of being inferior and restricted the young ideas of the youth to flourish. But, it was the fortitude of our martyrs’ and all the people who took part in several freedom movements to throw out British from India, which got us freedom that we are enjoying now. We should never forget their miseries that they had faced during freedom movements.

As talking of present scenario where young generation contributes to almost 50% of the total population of India it is quite clear that the future of India depends mostly on the youths. So most of the concentration should be given upon the development of youths so as to ensure the bright and glorious future of India. Today we have excelled in various fields and our economy is counted among the top economies of the world existing in the current scenario. We have marked our presence felt among the nations who once dominated us in the past with their power. We have achieved this stupendous glory only because of our strong urge to excel blended with the aspirations of becoming a self reliant nation in every aspect.

But what is of paramount importance here is to maintain this position by training our youth in the way that make them resilient to any deviations. And it is true that this training can’t be imparted just by passing legislations and formulating various laws. It must reciprocate from the youth’s side also. Because today what I observe is that the younger generations are becoming very irresponsible in their ways and behaviour.  They don’t care a damn for anything. On various occasions it has been found that they indulge themselves with various illegal activities. And they are addicted to various drugs and alcohols and mostly this is the reason why they commit crime to fulfil their daily needs of the same. It is not always that they are from poor family and are guided by the miseries of poverty but they are from a family of good background. Like one of the case is they are more prone to become an alcoholic as they are getting hefty amount of pocket money from their parents. This case can be easily seen in any engineering and other colleges where they get a chance to be away from the gaze of parents.  They are thrilled by the fancy lights of discotheque and won’t mind to be a regular visitor of the same and hence depriving themselves from the valuable time that they should have given to the works they are supposed to do either it may be studying or doing the jobs they are responsible for. They seem to become an addict of being an extravagant person and won’t mind showing off being a prodigal one.

So it is up to the youth to understand this fact that being an alcoholic and becoming an irresponsible person is not only detrimental to their health but also hampers the growth of the ideas which are required to maintain the momentum of development of the society and ultimately the nation. So what is needed today for the youths is that they should vow on this auspicious occasion of Independence day to not to become an alcoholic and irresponsible one so as to ensure the prosperous future of our nation and of coming generation. They must get Independence from the captivity of being a careless fellow.  Because celebrating this day by just hoisting Tricolour and chanting national anthem will not be fruitful until we understand its relevance on the youth community and so they must be motivated to become a responsible man....
